Please note that our Interlibrary loan service (ILLO) has not yet resumed. Continue to visit our website for news as we make more services available in the coming weeks.


Patrons are now permitted to browse the library bookshelves. The AV material however will continue to be reserved online (only) for pickup once notified. Patrons must wear proper face covering and follow all precautionary measures as directed by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit. Library visits must be kept to less than 30 minutes and a strict maximum amount of people allowed in the building at any one time. Washroom facilities, water fountain, program rooms, study room, and the Cornwall room remain closed. Access to public computers and WIFI is planned for the following week.

The opening hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Wednesday from 12:30 pm to 7:30 pm.


Borrow a child’s book – get a reward!

When you pick up your bag of pre-selected items containing one or more children’s book, you get an incentive prize for your child. You will also find a prize in our children’s Grab N Go bag of books available at the circulation desk.

EOHU Directive for Mandatory Masking in Indoor Public Spaces

Based on the precautionary principle, the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is making the use of face coverings by members of the public mandatory in indoor (ENCLOSED) public spaces accessed by the public.

All persons entering or remaining in these premises must wear a mask that securely covers the nose, mouth, and chin as required by the Directive issued under the province’s Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

New eResource at Cornwall Public Library

The Freading® eBook Service is Cornwall Public Library’s newest eResource. With over 100,000 titles, Freading brings our online eReading material to yet another, exciting level. Freading offers unlimited simultaneous access to a single book with more than 1,100 publishers from around the globe, including HarperCollins, Harlequin, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Sourcebooks and Lonely Planet.  We are thrilled to add the service to our already extensive collection of online services.

How it Works: Find Freading in our eResources section or click here to reach the service. Sign in with your library card and password and voila! enjoy your 3 downloads per week immediately. Get your Cornwall Public Library card here, we will inform you when it is ready to use.

Enjoy Ancestry In-library edition, currently available from your home!

To access the Ancestry from home, we must first make a change to your account to access the service. Please send us your library card number and your name in an email. In the subject field, enter ANCESTRY. Our technical staff will then make the necessary change. eMail Us Here
