Unwind after school with us. Each week is something different! Activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math are ready for you!
11/18/24: Paper Rockets
Blast off! Have you ever played with a model or toy rocket, or seen a real rocket launch on TV? In this project you will make simple rockets out of paper and launch them by blowing into a drinking straw. Can you make the rocket that flies the farthest?
11/25/24: Magic Shape Math Competition
Split into two teams, participants will race to complete the magic shape number combinations using mathematical skills. First team to have all sides or sections add up to the magic number wins the round!
12/2/24: Paper Bridge Project
Bridges come in all shapes, sizes, and materials. What makes a bridge the strongest? Find out in this fun activity as you build simple bridges with paper and test to see how much weight they can hold.
12/9/24: Make Marbled Cards Using Science!
Do you like both arts and science? Then this is the perfect activity for you! You will create beautiful, marbled paper cards and practice science at the same time! It might get a bit messy, but that is part of the fun!
12/16/24: Protect Your 'Eggstronaut': Build an Egg-Drop Lander
The egg-drop project is a classic and time-honored tradition in many science classes. The goal is usually to build a device that can protect an egg when dropped from a high location. This activity puts a twist on the classic project, motivated by real-world advances in space exploration. Can you build a reusable egg-drop lander that can survive repeated falls from the same height? Try this activity and find out
